Developed in Japan, Konbu is a textile that immediately stands apart. While it has the familiar appearance of canvas, it offers a distinctly different tactile experience—a crisp, dry nylon with a natural crepe texture and a structured form that retains its shape. For this capsule, the freestanding tote was constructed using a Konbu shell, combining its lightweight structure and rich matte depth with the brand’s signature layout to create the CDT24, emphasising form, feel, and everyday utility.

- It’s Konbu - Developed in Japan, Konbu is a 100% recycled nylon textile inspired by the texture and character of seaweed. Using a proprietary process, each fiber is swollen and compressed to create a dense, structured fabric with a crisp, dry hand feel. Its uniform crepe texture gives it a refined, consistent character from day one.
- Canvas look, lighter weight - Konbu has a familiar, canvas-like presence but is constructed from lightweight nylon, resulting in weight savings compared to similar structured materials. It delivers a textile that holds its shape, maintains durability, and reduces expected bulk.
- Magnetic closure - The main closure is lined with two rows of cylindrical magnets, creating a secure yet flexible system that won’t wear out or break. These magnets keep the tote closed for security and weather protection while on the go, but with a slight pull, still offer the ease and convenient access that tote bags are known for.
- Integrated luggage pass-through - Behind the exterior quick-access pocket is a discreet magnet that conceals a hidden luggage pass-through sleeve. Without opening any zippers or closures, the bag can be placed onto roller luggage for easier travel.
- Versatile carry - The two handles are made from custom-woven tubular nylon webbing with a foam core for comfortable hand or shoulder carry. Each handle also contains three low-profile magnets at the apex, allowing them to stand and support each other—keeping the handles ready to grab at a moment’s notice.
