Balancing a nostalgic historical sense with radical modernism, Kris Van Assche has created a distinctive, refined world of nonchalant elegance.
Van Assche's work is characterised by attention to detail, a strong feel for ritual and the exacting depiction of a chic that evokes 'days gone by'.
Kris Van Assche was born in Belgium in 1976. Shortly after graduating from the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts, he moved to Paris in 1998. After working at Yves Saint Laurent and then for Dior Homme, he began to show his original creations in January 2005. Today he heads his own label - KRISVANASSCHE, and has been artistic director for Dior Homme since April 2007.
Impelled by a vision of the man who takes the time to 'dress up', Kris Van Assche has embarked on an aesthetic quest, pursuing a new masculinity infused with poetry and authenticity.
In this collaboration, Kris Van Assche revisits the EASTPAK codes that made the brand so popular to bring them into his stylish and sophisticated world, where luxurious details as well as modern masculinity are of the essence.
In a strong urban spirit with cool elegance, Kris Van Assche has created 7 designs available in three combinations of fabric and colours.
As an echo to the black/grey/natural palette of his FW2011/2012 collection, the bags are a mix of sportswear influences, classical elegance and military details.
For instance, parachute cloth, leather and rough cotton are combined and smarten up the whole range.
The bags reflect the designers trademarks: flexible fabric and sobriety, internal structure and clean lines.
Each bag has a metal key ring, made out of two pieces that fit together, each part representing the name of the two brands.
“Fantasitic! Item arrived overnight from interstate, perfect.”
“Fabulous! Couldn't believe how quickly the messenger bag i ordered arrived after i ordered it, and the quality of the bag is excellent.”
“Great selection, really fast shipping, and 100-day return policy is great for indecisive people like me!”
“Very happy with the service. I like that you use australia post as your delivery company, as i am not home during the week and it makes it easy for me to go down saturday morning and pick up my parcel from the local post office.”
“Rad unique stuff :).”
“Of course i will!! And, i will recommend rushfaster to everyone i know :-) the only thing that i didn\'t like was for me to call your office to check what is happening with my order. I was told i was a new customer and the account required verification. A sms was sent to the phone number which i never received. I think you should send an email requesting verification because that sms has not arrived till now. I think the biggest satisfaction in the order process is that as a customer, i know that i can return an item if for some reason i do not want. I ordered the 15\" taipan and the 15\" squeeze thinking if i do not like one, i will return that. However, a week after receiving the bags i do not feel like returning any one of them. I am yet to use the taipan messenger bag, i may return that but very unlikely. I haven\'t gone through the return and refund page so i can\'t really say much about it, i hope it works as per the promise. As a customer, i totally appreciate the fact that i am supposed to return an item in its original packaging with all the tags, etc overall, i think rush faster is doing a splendid job. I wish rush faster considered diversifying into other it related peripheral items such as keyboards, mice, headphones, etc.”
“Item arrrived promptly with n o problems.”
“Always great service, quick delivery and fast to respond to questions. Warranty has only been used twice and was one of the best warranty on line service i have had.”
“Good, nothing is ever perfect.”
“My experience was fantastic! The bag i ordered was at my door extremely quickly. When i first made my purchase i wasn't sure because i didn't receive a conformation email, but after i emailed you they explained there was a technical issue and then before i knew it my new bag was at my door.”
